The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has started functioning since 2001.The Department aims at motivating and helping the students in their over-all development as globally competent software professionals, capable of meeting demands of IT industries. The departments have full fledged and well-equipped laboratories to meet the requirements for providing quality education to the students.
The Departments have well- experienced, highly qualified, committed and motivated members of faculties. It has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, India and Anna University, Chennai.

Program Educational Objectives
The educational objectives of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program represent major accomplishments that our graduates are expected to achieve within three to five years after graduation and more specifically, Program Educational Objective (PEO)
PEO 1: Pursue career/higher education by acquiring the fundamental knowledge in mathematics, computing techniques and engineering principles.
PEO 2: Apply the principles of computer science and engineering for analyzing the real world problems to produce cost effective and acceptable technical solutions.
PEO 3: Sustain as good professionals and practice in emerging technologies through lifelong learning.
PEO 4: Build professionalism, team work, effective communication, ethical values and leadership qualities.
COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING GRADUATES ARE ABLE TO:
PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

The Department has fully developed
The Department provides extensive computing resources for research and education. This includes more than 300 high-e performance computers in the range of Linux and Windows workstations. In addition to general purpose of file server, the Department maintains two specialized servers for Database clients and Linux based workstations. Department network communications includes a Fiber optic backbone, offering 8Mbps Internet connectivity to the commodity Internet and provides Intranet within the HI-TECH lab which hosts 10 laboratories. The Department has wireless Internet connectivity via a campus-wide 802.11b network to the Laptops. The network is equipped with Routers, switches and Firewalls. Since all the machines in the computer laboratory and its annexure are connected in a switched Fiber Optic Computer Network, one can access any resource from any node in the campus. A variety of latest software is also made available to the students. The campus computer network covering all buildings spread over 63 acres has been conceived, studied, planned, designed, optimized, executed and maintained by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
The Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi and recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), New Delhi. The Department has been approved as Centre for Research by Anna University, Chennai and offers M.S by Research and Ph.D Programmes.
