About Department:

The Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre is committed to impart in depth knowledge to students about basics of biochemistry, molecular chemistry and applied biochemistry to make them competent Indian Medical Graduates.

In the era of evidence-based medicine, undergraduates and postgraduates are motivated to undertake research projects so that they can compete globally in medical fraternity.

The department provides latest technological expertise to clinicians in aiding the diagnosis and treatment to the patients at the hospital. The central chemistry lab workload is handled by trained and experienced technicians under the guidance of dedicated faculty members. Every day 220-260 samples are tested for routine test while 6-10 are received for special test. One of the important mile stone is accreditation of Central Lab by NABL, an autonomous body reputed for giving accreditation for competency & quality standard.

The state-of-the-art research laboratory also facilitates the upcoming researchers of our institute as well as sister Institutes. The faculties of the department are committed in all endeavours for the excellence of the department there by being a part of the academic success of the institution.
